The company was established on the first of august 1987. It was Thorfinn Nielsen who established the company along with his wife Jórun Nielsen. The company started as a private company with Thorfinn as the sole electrician, with Jórun as bookkeeper.

The company became a limited liability company in 1988 and was named Sp/f Thorfinn Nielsen.

The first trainee was appointed at the turn of the century. The company was based in Thorfinn and Jórun's basement since it was established in 1987 until 2012.

In May 2012 everything changed as the new building on Hillingatanga 10 was finally ready to move in to. The company moved into its own building with way better circumstances: Larger premises and a bigger workshop. In addition we opened up a new shop with white goods, electrical appliances and other necessities. This was something that we believed the island of Vágar was missing.

   Over the years there have been about 8-10 annual workers at Sp/f Thorfinn Nielsen. The company has been growing the past couple of years, and it continues to do so; At the moment there are 26 people employed at Sp/f Thorfinn Nielsen.
